One thing that stands out immediately with the Huion Inspiroy Q11K from other graphics tablets on the market is the large active drawing surface. This model boasts a far more spacious surface to take advantage of during your work.

The Huion Inspiroy Q11K is unlike a lot of other inexpensive graphics tablets on the market, but is that a good thing? Budget-friendly drawing tablets often have a very similar feel to them which seems to work for the majority of customers.

Huion has stepped out of this comfort zone to create the Huion Inspiroy Q11K. But does the risk pay off, or should they have just stuck to the status quo? Today we’ll find out in our Huion Inspiroy Q11K review.

Design

The Huion Inspiroy Q11K has a large size when it comes to the drawing surface, measuring 11 x 7 inches. Measuring that diagonally, that’s 13 inches of active drawing space! You’ll be unrestricted with this tablet and be able to learn how to use it much easier than a tablet with a smaller surface.

In terms of the build’s design, it feels reliable and sturdy. It is relatively simple with just a black plastic casing, but there is little give which gives us the impression that this drawing tablet will last you for a long time.

The drawing surface is semi-matte with a little texture to mimic the feel of paper. It’s not as prominent as on the Wacom drawing surfaces, making the drawing surface slightly smoother than users might like.

However, for the lower price, we will allow the smoother surface to slide under our radar.

The only issue that we have with the design of this tablet is that the larger size makes it less portable for on-the-go workers. If you like to travel with your graphics tablet, you might want to consider getting a larger bag.

Pencil

The included pencil is battery-powered and includes rechargeable capabilities. The charger plugs into the base of the pencil so there is no eraser function to benefit from. There are two buttons on the shaft of the pencil which you can adjust with the customizable settings option.

Overall, we think that the pencil has a good weight to it. It’s not too light and mimics the feel of a real pencil well. You’ll also get a stand to keep the pencil safe that features eight replacement nibs.

The pencil is impressively sensitive with 8192 pressure levels. This is significantly more than the other budget tablets that we have seen on the market and will aid your work by recognizing how lightly you are using your pencil.

The pencil holder also acts as a case for all the essentials that go with the pencil. We think that this is a great pencil for a drawing tablet and can’t fault it.

Function Buttons

There are eight function buttons on the side of the tablet that you can customize to be a shortcut of your choice. The buttons are not flimsy and they have unique embellishments on them so that you can learn each pattern for each of your shortcuts without looking.

On the side of the tablet is an on/off toggle so that you can decide whether you want the function buttons working or not. This will avoid annoying accidental presses.

Battery Life

The Huion Inspiroy Q11K is a wireless tablet that needs to be recharged from a port at the top of the design. Huion claims that the battery life is up to 40 hours on a single charge, which is amazing in itself.

If you work a five-day week and use the tablet for four hours a day, this graphics tablet should last you for two weeks without needing to be recharged!

You can also use the tablet while it’s charging, so you don’t have to waste time waiting for it to recharge. However, you can only do this by plugging the tablet into your computer’s USB port. For some reason, it won’t work while it’s plugged into a wall.

Drawing Experience

The Huion Inspiroy Q11K gives you an amazing drawing experience that is difficult to find with other budget drawing tablets. The smoother surface ensures that your pencil won’t jump over your lines, and once you get used to the texture of the screen you’ll be unstoppable.

Plus, a slightly smoother surface is better than one that is too rough. A surface that is too rough will slowly break down your pencil nibs and you’ll often find that the screen doesn’t last as long.

Compatibility

The majority of popular drawing programs are compatible with the Huion Inspiroy Q11K. This means that you should be able to use all your favorite software to work with. If you use a lesser-known program, it might be worth getting in contact with Huion’s customer support.

It also helps that their customer support is very friendly and will help with any queries you have.

We know that it works with Adobe Suite, Mac with Mischief, Krita, Mediband Paint Pro, Affinity Photo, Clip Studio Paint, and Tayasui Sketches Pro. Not only does the tablet work with these programs, but it also works well.

Summary

Overall, the Huion Inspiroy Q11K is an excellent graphics tablet for anyone on a budget. The additional screen size only aids the performance and can leave you feeling unrestricted when drawing.

The pencil is excellent with an impressive number of pressure levels. The pencil holder is also helpful as it doubles as a case for the extras.

With a 40-hour battery life, you can use the Huion Inspiroy Q11K for two weeks on a single charge. The screen is not as rough as we might like, but the low price and other benefits more than makes up for this.
