Strange but true. One of the best, if not the best role-playing game, started in the 90s as Diablo, but Diablo II, the ultimate fantasy-themed, hack and slash computer game, which came out in 2000, is recognized throughout the game world as the ultimate role-playing computer game.
As fun as Diablo 2 is to play, players have a deep desire to have an on-the-go Diablo 2 experience, and that means getting a portable notebook. Here are 5 great tablets to consider to allow you to play Diablo 2 on the run and have a great experience doing so.
There are of course other portables out there, but playing Diablo 2 on them is quite a challenge that requires an emulator running behind the scenes, an experience that is sometimes not pretty.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7
Of all the portable listed here, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is by far and away listed as the go-to-tablet for playing Diablo 2 without any difficulty at all in all the major gaming and Diablo 2 forums.
Available on Amazon, the Surface Pro 7 is a powerful computer with a fast I-5 core processor that will make your Diablo 2 playing a breeze.
While the relatively ancient 2000 technology won’t be improved by the Surface Pros the Intel Iris graphics will make every other game or graphics task come into super-sharp focus.
One reason that many people love the Surface Pro 7 if they are gamers is the long battery life. The batteries will last up to 10.5 hours, and from an empty or near-empty battery, the battery will recharge up to 80 percent within an hour.
Most Surface Pro 7 computers come with 8 GB of Ram although it is possible to upgrade to a computer with 16 Gigabytes of Ram which is what we recommend.
The memory of the Surface Pro 7 comes in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB configurations. The standard Surface Pro 7 comes with Windows 10 home version, although you can get the optional Home Pro version.
For the price, for the long battery life, and for the ease of being able to play Diablo 2, you can get much better than this. This is a great tablet for playing Diablo 2.
Apple Ipad 10.2 inch model
First, we’ll admit right out of the gate that the Apple Ipad is a Superior portable computer in almost every way. First, there is the price. For what you get with the Apple Ipad, you close to 1/3 of the price of the Microsoft Surface Pro.
Second of all, you get 32 Gigabytes of Ram, whereas the standard Microsoft Surface Pro only comes with 8 Gigabytes of Ram.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to play Diablo II straight out of the box, nor will you be able to use an emulator. Instead, you will be relegated to enjoying Diablo Immortal, a game that slides in for between the Original Diablo 2 and Diablo 3.
Unfortunately, Diablo Immortal has not been officially released by Blizzard yet but can be acquired through the Diablo website. If as is rumored, that a remastered version of Diablo 2 will also come out, and perhaps that is the reason for the long Blizzard delay, then expect Apple to sell a lot of Ipads.
People just love their Ipads, as evidenced by the 49,000 reviews on Amazon, of which 90 percent are of those reviews are 5-star and another 7 percent are 4-star reviews.
Take all of the extras such as the superb graphics and the extra memory, plus the fact that you can also draw on it and it has a built-in keyboard, which the Surface Pro does not, and you have a superior portable computer..
In addition, Apple’s battery life of 10 hours plus is likely to stand up real-time for gaming.
Gamers can only hope that Blizzard actually comes up with a remastered version of Diablo 2 so that thousands of IOS players can fully enjoy the whole essence of the game. Until then, It’s on to Diablos website for a limited version of Diablo Immortals or alternatively plays Diablo 3 on your Ipad.
As far as other games for playing on your IPAD, there are dozens of games out there, and so you can count on your Ipad as a portable tablet for gaming.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
If you don’t want to wait for Blizzard to come out with a remastered version of Diablo 2 that works on an Ipad, consider downloading an emulator and playing the original Diablo 2 game on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.
The Graphics are crisp (certainly enough to handle Diablo 2), there is up to 1 Terabyte of Memory, and the unit is very lightweight.
One thing to keep in mind, although battery strength may vary depending upon use, is that the Samsun Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has one of the longest-lasting batteries out there, rated generally at 13 hours. So you can play Diablo 2 on the Samsung almost continuously on a New York to Sydney Australia flight and not miss a single bit of Diablo 2 action.
And unlike Apple which specifically designs their software to not work with emulators, Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 light are very adaptable to using a number of emulators to handle the job.
And Samsung is no lightweight when it comes to making Android phones and portable notebooks.
We are betting that many Southeast Asian consumers in South Korea, China, Viet Nam, and Thailand are enjoying a game of Diablo 2 right now in their respective countries on a Samsung Galaxy Tab right now.
The price is right. They trust Samsung over a windows product or even an Apple product, and as far as Diablo 2 is concerned the long-lasting batteries make it a trusted product.

To play Diablo 2 on an ordinary smartphone just is not satisfying. The bigger the screen, the more enjoyment you get out of the game. However, the size and the overall weight of the screen become a disadvantage if it’s paired with a phone.

Of course, if you use the phone companies network you better have an unlimited plan because you can use a lot of data this way, but this phone/tablet offers you the best of both worlds.
Naturally, since the phone runs on Samsungs Android 9 system, you can arrange to download one of several emulators and play Diablo 2 to your heart’s content.
And just as we mentioned with the Tab S6 Lite, you can expect close to 13 hours of battery life while playing which is excellent between charges.
Don’t get us wrong. This is primarily a portable notebook more than a cellphone. So don’t expect to get the same level of clarity out of this device like a Samsung Galaxy S or even a Galaxy X. But for less than $300 you have a tablet for gaming. a portable;e notebook for enjoying Diablo 2. and a smartphone.
You certainly get a lot more than spending $1,000 plus for a high-end Galaxy get a great gaming platform and decent phone in the process. Overall, the Tab A is a great tablet for playing Diablo 2.

At around $1,000 the Apple Ipad beats the pants upon any portable notebook out there. The display is truly spectacular and you have enough power to use this notebook as a full-fledged computer.
However, you can’t get around Apple engineering, and the engineers simply designed all Apple portables, including this beauty not to work with any emulator.
This means you have two choices to play Diablo, either the modern Diablo 3 the Diablo Website only Diablo Immortals. Again, we can hope that Blizzard will see fit to create a reimaged version of Diablo 2 available for Ipad.
There are occasional rumors that it is coming, but even the original lead programmer of Diablo 1 and programmer invested in creating Diablo 2, David Brevik, says that while a remastered version of Diablo 2 may happen eventually, that gaming fans should no expect as much as they imagined in a remastered game.
First of all, he says that most or all of the original source code was lost, and nobody has access to it. As a result, those who want to recapture the original luster of Diablo 2 need to either buy a machine such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 or be content using emulators.
