Now while the 10.2-inch retina display will be a feast for the eyes, there is one catch. The iPad is definitely not a very durable tablet on its own. Not only is it not waterproof, but it is also easily scratched and dented. Nevertheless, Samsung’s S5e suffers from the same flaw as other Android Tablets. You’re once again locked to Amazon’s app store so your choices of the software will be more limited – just do your homework before purchasing and you’ll do just fine.

Three Things to Look For in a ‘Kitchen Tablet’
Durability
The kitchen is no place for the meek. With blazing fires, dirty fingers and splashes of oil and water being commonplace, it goes without saying that a tablet should be more than able to handle some rough care if it were to survive this environment. Devices made out of sturdy materials with minimal plastic and flex would be ideal for the kitchen.
Additionally, you can’t go wrong by purchasing a separate protective case but at the end of the day, the degree of protection your tablet needs will depend heavily on how you, as a chef, operate in the kitchen. Look carefully towards yourself and be honest with how clumsy or rough you are when cooking!
Performance
When it comes to tablets destined for just kitchen use, you most certainly do not need to find the fastest, meanest device out there. After all, you’re just reading a recipe or following along a video, not editing some hour-long 4K video on Final Cut Pro!
