The first thing that most consumers are bound to notice when handling the ZenPad is its sleek skin. The new "fashion-inspired" design is evocative of a high-end attache case, which should appeal to image-conscious professionals and trendy consumers. At a mere 265 grams in weight and 8.4 millimeters thick, it's a lean machine that's reminiscent of the iPad Mini. Available in Black, White, Red and Aurora Metallic, the ZenPad C 7.0 gives buyers plenty of options when it comes to finding the right aesthetic.

There's also ports aplenty to be found despite the small footprint of the ZenPad C 7.0. It boasts Micro USB, a Micro SD slot and a 2-in-1 headphone/mic jack. As for audio, the included front speaker is a DTS HD Premium Sound model that produces surprising volume for its size. Cameras include a 0.3MP front lens as well as 5MP and 2MP rear units. The 7" IPS LED display puts out a respectable 1024x600 resolution. Tough-as-nails Gorilla Glass is protected by an anti-fingerprint coating and full lamination.

The core of the system runs on a 64-bit Intel Atom x3-C3200 Quad-Core CPU and a Mali-450 MP GPU supported by 1GB of RAM. While on-board storage maxes out at 16GB, the ZenPad C 7.0 comes with 5GB of ASUS Webstorage and 100GB of free Google Drive space for up to 2 years. The included SD reader can bump up storage by 64GB. The 13Wh Li-polymer battery is good for up to 8 hours. On the software front, this little dynamo runs Android 5.0 and is augmented by custom enhancements like ASUS VisualMaster for superior graphics. The exclusive ZenUI layout is designed from the ground up to deliver the best mini tablet user experience possible.
